How to solve the problem of yellow and shriveled aloe leaf tips

How to solve the problem of yellow and shriveled aloe leaf tips

1. Rehydrate in time

Cause: Too little watering, or watering without reaching the roots, causing the leaves to turn yellow and shrivel.

Solution: Increase the frequency of watering and also increase the amount of water appropriately. Providing sufficient water is more conducive to growth and development. If you water too much, it means that the soil is compacted and water cannot penetrate. The soil needs to be loosened appropriately, and be careful not to damage the roots when loosening the soil.

2. Change pots and soil

Reason: If the air permeability of the flowerpot is poor, the roots will not be able to breathe well, which will also cause the leaves to turn yellow and shriveled.

Solution: Change the pot for aloe vera in time. Carefully remove it from the pot, being careful not to damage the roots. Wash off the soil around the roots and trim off some old roots. Choose a flower pot of the right size, place tiles at the bottom of the pot, and then add a layer of sand. Fill the pot with soil and plant the plants. After planting, compact the soil and water it thoroughly, then wait for recovery.

3. Proper shade

Reason: Aloe vera grows best in a semi-shady environment. Too strong light will cause the leaves to lose water, causing them to become shriveled and yellow.

Solution: Place the aloe vera in a cool place where it can receive a little scattered light but not strong light. You can also place it in a sunny place to receive sunlight in the morning and evening, and provide moderate shade at noon to avoid direct sunlight.

4. Supplement potassium fertilizer

Reason: Aloe vera lacks potassium, which can easily cause its leaves to shrivel or even burn.

Solution: When applying fertilizer, choose fertilizers that are mainly potassium-based. Generally, it is fast-acting and should be fully diluted before use. Avoid excessive potassium, which will affect the growth of plants.
