What's wrong with the yellow leaves of Chlorophytum?

What's wrong with the yellow leaves of Chlorophytum?

1. Reasons

1. Insufficient light: It is a semi-shade plant and needs to be exposed to diffuse light for more than four hours a day. Otherwise, the chlorophyll content will be reduced, causing the leaves to turn yellow.

2. Excessive watering: If you water too much during maintenance, the soil in the pot will be seriously waterlogged, the roots will find it difficult to breathe, the leaves will turn yellow and may even dry up and die.

3. Excessive fertilization: Too much fertilizer applied during maintenance, far exceeding the plant's needs, will burn the root system, causing root rot and yellowing of leaves.

4. Lack of nutrients: If the nutrients contained in the potting soil have been exhausted and the three basic elements of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium are also severely lacking, the leaves will turn yellow due to lack of nutrients.

II. Remedies

1. Supplement lighting: If there is a lighting problem, try to supplement the light as much as possible. Take time every day to move the plant to a place with scattered light and get more sun. But be careful not to expose it to strong direct sunlight, otherwise the leaves will be sunburned and turn yellow.

2. Reduce watering: If it is due to watering, you should reduce the amount of water and control the water in time. You should also loosen the soil frequently to allow the moisture to evaporate as quickly as possible. When watering in the later stage, you should be careful to prevent water accumulation.

3. Stop fertilizing: If it is a fertilizer problem, stop fertilizing and water as soon as possible to dilute the fertilizer. If you are good at it, you can also remove the pot, change the soil, clean the roots, and replant.

4. Replace the potting soil: If the soil is lacking in nutrients, you should replace it with fertile soil as soon as possible, or you can also add an appropriate amount of alum fertilizer water to supplement it.
