How to plant indigofera seeds

How to plant indigofera seeds

one. How to sow:

(1) In September and October, the fruit of this plant is fully mature. At this time, we can collect the fully mature pods and place them on a flat surface to dry. After the peel is dry, the seeds will fall off by themselves, and then we can collect the seeds. Gather the seeds together, pick out the debris and throw away, then put the seeds in a woven bag and store them in a dry place.

(2) Prepare the seedbed for growing seedlings. Generally, sandy soil is chosen as the cultivation medium, and the seedbed is selected in a relatively flat place. There is no requirement for the orientation of the bed, whether it is north-south or east-west. If it is a relatively flat sunny slope, it can also be used as a seedbed. The bed should be about 1 to 1.2 meters wide and 0.15 to 0.2 meters high. The length of the bed is determined by the ground conditions and is generally 20 to 50 centimeters. After that, sprinkle livestock and poultry fertilizer from the farm on the surface of the bed, about 500 kg of fertilizer for every 100 square meters, and then use a rake to turn the bed to a depth of 15 to 20 centimeters, so that the soil and fertilizer can be fully mixed.

(3) One week before sowing, place the seeds at the bottom of a container, then pour about 10 times the volume of water as the seeds into the container to immerse the seeds. The water temperature should reach 70 degrees. Pour out the water the next day, then mix the seeds with sand three times the volume of the seeds and put them in a woven bag. Control the temperature at 20 to 25 degrees for storage.

(4) Generally, sowing is done from April to early May. Use a rake to dig trenches with a spacing of 25 cm and a depth of 4 cm in the seedbed. Sow the seeds in the trenches, with a spacing of 3 to 4 cm between seeds. Then cover the seeds with a layer of soil 2 to 3 cm thick and compact the soil.

two. Note:

(1) The collected seeds should be stored in a dry place.

(2) Germination is required before planting.
