What to do if the leaves of hydrangea turn yellow and the edges dry up

What to do if the leaves of hydrangea turn yellow and the edges dry up

1. Water appropriately

Reason: Hydrangea likes a humid growing environment. If the soil in the pot is too moist or too dry, its leaves will turn yellow and dry, and in severe cases, the leaves will fall off.

Solution: Watering should be moderate, and there should not be excess water in the potting soil. If the amount of watering is too large, good drainage is required. If the air is dry, you can spray water on the leaves or around them to increase the humidity of the air.

2. Scientific fertilization

Reason: If too much fertilizer is applied on a regular basis, fertilizer damage will easily occur, the plant roots will be burned, and the leaves will turn yellow and dry up. However, do not go without fertilizing for a long time. Lack of nutrients will cause the leaves to turn yellow.

Solution: Control the amount of fertilizer, apply thin fertilizers frequently. If the amount of fertilizer is too large, add more water to dilute the excess fertilizer.

3. Reasonable lighting

Reason: Hydrangea prefers partial shade. If it is placed in a dark environment for a long time, it will not be able to carry out photosynthesis and its leaves will turn yellow. It also cannot be exposed to excessive sunlight. If it is not shaded in summer, its leaves will turn yellow and the edges will dry out.

Solution: Generally, it is necessary to give it enough light, avoid strong sunlight in summer, and keep it in a cool place. If it is caused by growing in the shade for a long time, let it get more sunlight.
