What to do if the leaves of hydroponic white palm turn yellow

1. Sudden changes in the environment

Reason: The leaves of a newly grown white calla lily will easily turn yellow because it has not yet adapted to the sudden change in environment. For example, the leaves will turn yellow if the temperature, humidity and light change drastically and it has not yet adapted.

Method: When caring for hydroponic anthuriums, it is best to reduce changes in its growth environment. If problems arise, just wait for it to ease and adapt.

2. Improper lighting

Reason: If the sun shines on it, the leaves will get burned. Small yellow spots will appear on the leaves facing the sun. At the same time, the edges of the leaves will easily die and gradually turn completely yellow. If there is not enough sunlight, it will turn yellow, especially in winter or early spring. It needs to be given good light and not blocked.

Solution: If the sunlight is too strong, move it to a windy and shady area. When the light is too strong, action should be taken. If it is kept in a cool area all the time, do not expose it to direct sunlight suddenly, otherwise its leaves will turn yellow or die. In winter, you can put it on the balcony for an hour, preferably around ten o'clock. At the same time, the temperature must be controlled. If it is difficult to control due to special circumstances, you can place it in an air-conditioned room to adjust the temperature difference.

3. Improper fertilization

Reason: If there is too much fertilizer, the leaves will turn yellow and the tips of old leaves will turn yellow and fall off. If they are new leaves, the surface of the leaves will not be smooth and stretched. If there is not enough fertilizer, the roots will not deliver enough nutrients and the leaves will become weak and yellow.

Method: Reduce the amount of fertilizer appropriately, use less fertilizer but more frequently. If the yellow leaves are caused by insufficient fertilizer, you can add nutrient solution to the bottle when changing the water, shake it gently to make it even, increase the oxygen content, and promote root growth.

4. Poor water quality

Reason: If the water in the bottle has been there for a long time and has deteriorated, the roots will rot and the leaves will turn yellow.

Method: The water should be changed every five to seven days in spring and autumn, every three to five days in summer, and every ten days to half a month in winter.

5. Infestation by pests and diseases

Reason: If there is disease or insect pest, the leaves will lose their luster, turn yellow and shrink.

Solution: You can go to the market and buy special medicine to spray it. The dosage should be small and you can spray it several times.
