What to do if daylily leaves turn yellow

What to do if daylily leaves turn yellow

Reasons for yellowing leaves of daylily

Daylilies like moisture and are drought-resistant. They like sunlight and need sufficient light. The most important requirement of daylilies for the soil is good drainage, moist but not waterlogged. Therefore, according to the growth habits of daylilies, if there is insufficient light, poor soil drainage, or excessive watering causes the growing soil to be overly moist, the leaves of daylilies will turn yellow.

When fertilizing daylilies, applying too little fertilizer or fertilizing too infrequently will cause the daylilies to lack nutrients, thus causing the leaves to turn yellow.

If daylilies are infected with diseases and pests such as leaf blight and rust, their leaves may turn yellow or fall off.

Prevention and treatment of yellowing daylily leaves

First, provide the daylily with a growing environment with plenty of sunlight, well-drained and moist soil, and water it moderately to keep it moist without accumulating water.

Secondly, apply fertilizer regularly and reasonably to prevent daylilies from lacking fertilizer and ensure the nutrients needed for growth.

To prevent and control daylily diseases, weeds, yellowed leaves, and dry stems and leaves should be removed in time. Then spray with 500-800 times diluted 50% mancozeb.

Cultivation after prevention and treatment of yellowing daylily leaves

When the yellowing of daylily leaves is cured, you need to take more careful care of it, place it in a semi-shaded place, ensure ventilation, light and water supply, and apply fertilizer appropriately.

Prevent and control diseases and insect pests in time, check frequently for diseases, spray with medicine in the early stages of the disease, and cut off the diseased parts.
