Money tree propagation method, both division and cutting are possible

Money tree propagation method, both division and cutting are possible

1. Cutting propagation

1. Cutting time: Money tree cuttings are mostly carried out in spring and autumn, when the temperature is suitable and conducive to plant rooting. The plants are dormant in summer and winter, and the survival rate is relatively low.

2. Cuttings processing: The cuttings of Money Tree are generally leaves or leaf axes. The leaf axis can be a single section or with leaves. Usually, the leaf axis with leaves will root faster.

3. Preparation of potting soil: If you want the cuttings of the money tree to take root, you need to prepare the potting soil with peat soil, perlite and river sand, so as to ensure good ventilation and drainage functions.

4. Carry out cuttings: Insert the cuttings of the money tree into the surface of the substrate to a depth of about one-third. Spray water appropriately after insertion to keep the substrate moist to facilitate rooting.

2. Division propagation

1. Division time: The time for division of Money Tree is usually chosen in spring, which can be combined with repotting to facilitate the plant's resumption of growth, and the sub-plants also have a higher survival rate.

2. Remove from the pot and separate: First remove the money tree from the pot, shake off the old soil on it, and then separate the daughter plant and the mother plant from the weak point where the tuber is connected.

3. Disinfection before potting: Apply wood ash on the wounds of the money tree seedlings to achieve the effect of disinfection. Prepare loose soil and plant the seedlings in it.
