1. Covering water

2. Winter water

Wintering water refers to irrigation and watering during the wheat seedling stage, before the arrival of a sharp drop in temperature, which can reduce the chance of wheat suffering from frost damage. Usually, for wheat fields with weak seedlings that have poor soil fertility, insufficient fertilizer, small populations, and poor growth, winter water can be applied early in late November, combined with watering and topdressing. In early spring, the temperature difference between day and night is large, and cold and warm air currents alternate frequently. Once a cold current occurs, the air temperature and ground temperature will be too low, which may cause frost damage to wheat. Therefore, moderate watering helps stabilize the ground temperature and prevent frost damage to wheat roots and leaves.

4. Grouting water

After wheat blooms and heads, it enters the grain filling period, which is generally from late April to early May. At this time, you should pay attention to start watering the grain. As for the amount of watering, it is generally sufficient to keep the humidity of the field soil at around 70-80% after watering.
