Suitable temperature for leek growth, leek growth cycle

Suitable temperature for leek growth, leek growth cycle

1. Suitable temperature for growth

The suitable temperature for leek growth depends on the growth stage, and the temperature required for different growth stages is also different. When the seeds are germinating, the temperature should be controlled above 12 degrees, preferably between 15-18 degrees. Too low a temperature will reduce the germination rate. The suitable temperature for seedling growth is between 12-18 degrees. When the seedlings grow to the growth period, the suitable temperature is between 15-28 degrees. It should not be too high or too low, otherwise it will affect the growth.

2. Growth cycle

1. Germination period: The period from seed germination to the growth of the first true leaf is the germination period. The entire emergence process takes about 10 days. However, the time required for different varieties is not exactly the same. Some varieties germinate very slowly, with the germination period being about 12-15 days, or even longer.

2. Seedling stage: The seedling stage is from the first true leaf to the ability to divide. General varieties require 70-80 days, and fast-growing ones require 60 days. During this growth stage, the above-ground part grows relatively slowly, mainly focusing on root growth. The value can be determined when the seedlings grow to 18-20 cm.

3. Active growth period: The active growth period begins when the plant has the ability to divide and division begins. The specific number of branches also depends on the variety. Narrow-leaf varieties are harvested four or five times a year, while broad-leaf varieties are harvested two or three times a year. During this period, attention should be paid to light and temperature management.
