What to do if the cactus does not take root

What to do if the cactus does not take root

1. Paper towel root inducement

If you want the cactus to take root quickly, wrap the roots of the cactus with a damp paper towel before planting, place the cactus in a well-lit and ventilated place, and keep the paper towel moist at all times. During this period, you can open the paper towel frequently to check the rooting of the cactus. After the plant has taken root, plant it in slightly moist soil. Do not water it after planting. Place it in a cool and ventilated place. Water it again after a few days, and gradually increase the light intensity.

2. Water-induced rooting

If you want the cactus to take root quickly, you can place the roots of the cactus (the fresh cut must be dried) on the mouth of the bottle 0.5 cm away from the water surface. Through the evaporation of water in the bottle, you can continuously induce the cactus to take root quickly. After the cactus takes root, we can plant it in a flowerpot with moist soil, or continue to cultivate it in water. After the roots fill the bottle, add 2 drops of nutrient solution to provide nutrients for the plant.

3. Rooting with chemicals

If you want the cactus to take root quickly, you can soak the roots of the cactus in a prepared rooting powder solution. The proportion of the rooting powder can be configured according to the instructions on the rooting powder package. Usually after soaking for 30 minutes, take out the cactus and place it in a cool and ventilated place to dry, then plant it in a flowerpot with moist soil, and wait for it to acclimate to the pot and then maintain it normally!
