How to make red gentian bloom on New Year's Day

How to make red gentian bloom on New Year's Day

Normal flowering period

Generally speaking, its flowering period is from October to February of the following year, and New Year's Day is included in this range. Therefore, we cannot simply say whether the flowering period should be advanced or delayed. We have to decide based on the actual situation. If it is estimated that the flower will bloom before New Year's Day, then take measures to delay it; if it is expected to bloom after New Year's Day, then find a way to advance its flowering period.

Specific measures

Adjust the temperature:

Generally speaking, temperature regulation is a more effective method, and it is also easier to adjust. It will not cause harm to plants compared to using drugs, so it is the preferred measure. First of all, if you want the plant to bloom, you can't just leave it outdoors any longer. Then, we have to judge how to control the temperature based on the specific situation. If you feel that it will bloom before New Year's Day, then lower the temperature appropriately to delay the flowering date; if New Year's Day is approaching and there is still no sign of blooming, then raise the temperature appropriately to advance its flowering period.

Water and fertilizer regulation:

The working principle of this method is also easy to understand. It is a way to regulate the flowering period by adjusting the external environment (referring to water and nutrients) for the plants. If the plant will bloom before New Year's Day, reduce the amount of watering and fertilization to delay the flowering period; otherwise, try to provide more water and nutrients. This method is also easier to implement, but the effect is not as obvious as the first method. So, we can consider combining it with other methods.
