How to care for the newly bought blue stone lotus

1. How to deal with the newly bought blue stone lotus

If you buy bare-root succulents online, we must first check whether the blue stone lotus is carrying diseases and insects after receiving the goods. Then trim the dry fibrous roots and place the blue stone lotus in a cool and ventilated place for 3 days. After the wound is completely dry, prepare moist soil and plant it in the soil. Do not water after planting. Water again after a week and gradually increase the light. (You can skip this step if you bought succulent plants with pots)

2. How to care for the newly bought blue stone lotus

1. Light: Blue Stone Lotus likes light and needs more sunlight in spring, autumn and winter. The longer the exposure time, the better the condition of the blue stone lotus, and the edges of the leaves can even turn pink. If there is a lack of light, succulents will grow too tall, and their leaves will become loose and thin. They need appropriate shade in the summer.

2. Temperature: The most suitable growth temperature for blue stone lotus is 18-28℃. When the temperature exceeds 35℃ in summer, the succulent will enter a dormant state. At this time, you should slowly cut off the water. When the temperature is below 0℃ in winter, you should cut off the water. Increase the temperature difference between day and night as much as possible to help the blue stone lotus to color.

3. Watering: During the peak growing season in spring and autumn, follow the principle of watering when the soil is dry and water when the soil is wet. Wait until the soil in the pot is almost dry before watering thoroughly. If the maintenance environment is cool in summer, watering can be done as usual. The temperature is low in winter, so you should water less or even cut off water to save the plant.

4. Note: When raising blue Echeveria at home, you must ensure that the maintenance environment is ventilated, especially in the humid summer. A poorly ventilated environment can easily cause black rot and waterlogging of succulents. Once the blue Echeveria starts to turn black and rot, it can be saved by beheading or cuttings.
