However, refreshing and appetizing cold cucumber salad is a favorite of many people. Cucumbers can be grown in many places in our country. When is the best time to plant cucumbers?

1. Spring planting

Northern region: The sowing time of spring cucumbers is generally from late April to early May. During this period, the temperature gradually warms up and the sunshine is sufficient, which is conducive to the growth and development of cucumbers.

Southern region: Due to the warmer climate in the south, the sowing time of spring cucumbers can be earlier, starting around mid-March. This allows cucumbers to grow better in warmer climates.

2. Planting in summer and autumn

Spring cucumbers: Planted in early spring, around February to March. During this period, the temperature gradually rises and stabilizes, which is conducive to the germination and development of cucumber seeds .

Autumn cucumbers: Generally planted about 75 days before the Descent of Frost, from approximately June to August. Although the temperature is relatively high during this period, choosing varieties that are adaptable, heat-resistant and disease-resistant can ensure the growth and yield of cucumbers.

3. Pay special attention

Greenhouse cultivation: If you want to eat cucumbers in winter, you can choose greenhouse cultivation. As long as the temperature can be well controlled, it can be done at any time.

Impact of late planting: If planting is two months late, it will not have much impact on cucumber yield, especially for autumn cucumbers planted in July, because the temperature is high, the seedlings emerge quickly, they are easy to manage and have high yields.

4. Sowing method

Seed treatment: Germination treatment before sowing can increase the germination rate and speed. Soak the seeds in hot water at 50 to 60 degrees, stirring to lower the water temperature to around 30 degrees. After soaking for 6 hours, dry them and set aside.

Soil preparation: Choose fertile, well-drained and well-ventilated soil for planting, and apply appropriate amounts of organic fertilizer and compound fertilizer .

Sowing: Sprinkle the germinated seeds evenly on the soil surface and cover with a thin layer of soil. When planting in summer and autumn, direct seeding is mostly used and there is no need for seedling transplanting.
