How to grow flowers more vigorously?

Nowadays, more and more friends are growing flowers. They can be grown on the balcony or in the courtyard. The ornamental value is very high after they bloom. So how can you grow flowers more vigorously? Let’s take a look with the editor below.

1. Growth environment

Many flowers like sunlight and are not suitable for long-term cultivation in dark places indoors. You can move the potted plants to another place every 5-10 days, move them outdoors for 7 days, then move them indoors, and repeat the operation. It is not suitable to be placed in the courtyard in direct sunlight in summer, as it can easily burn the leaves. It needs to be shaded or moved to a place with scattered light indoors for maintenance. Except for very cold-resistant plants, most flowers will enter a dormant period in winter. To avoid frost damage, they need to be moved to a warm place indoors for maintenance.

2. Soil

If you want to grow flowers well, you must first choose soil suitable for their growth. According to the variety and habits of the flowers, choose loose, fertile, breathable, well-drained acidic or alkaline soil, and add a small amount of organic compound fertilizer to increase the fertility of the soil, promote the plants to absorb more nutrients, and grow more vigorously.

3. Moisture

Many flowers prefer a moist growing environment, so the amount of watering should not be too large. Long-term growth in overly moist soil can easily cause root rot and affect the normal growth of the plant. When watering too much, place it in a ventilated place to promote rapid evaporation of water. Place gravel or old tiles at the bottom of the flowerpot to increase drainage and avoid water accumulation.

4. Fertilization

Reasonable fertilization will promote more vigorous growth of plants. During the growing season, you can apply appropriate amount of topdressing, choose dilute light fertilizer water, and apply thin fertilizer frequently. You can apply fertilizer once in winter to add base fertilizer to help the plants survive the winter.

5. Regular pruning

When growing flowers, you can prune them regularly to help the plants maintain their beautiful shape, prune overgrown branches, overlapping branches, and messy branches, reduce nutrient loss, and promote even distribution of branches.

6. Pest and disease control

Diseases are likely to occur during the maintenance process. Disinfect and sterilize the culture soil before potting and use it after exposing it to the sun for 1-2 days. If you find that the plants are infested with diseases and insects, spray pesticides or sprinkle some lime powder on the surface of the plants in time to prevent the plants from getting sick and getting spots.

The above is an introduction on how to grow flowers more vigorously. The soil for growing flowers should generally be loose, breathable and nutrient-rich. When watering the flowers, do not water them too frequently. Wait until the soil in the pot is completely dry before watering them thoroughly. There should not be any water accumulation at the bottom of the pot, as water accumulation can easily lead to root rot.
