How to care for newly bought chrysanthemums

1. How to grow the newly bought chrysanthemums

When you first buy chrysanthemums, you need to give them a relatively comfortable environment to acclimate them. Proper watering and ventilation, as well as reducing external stimuli, will help them better adapt to the new environment.

2. Specific breeding methods

1. Temperature: It is relatively cold-resistant, but it will be more conducive to its maintenance in a warm environment. When you first buy it, it is best to keep it in an environment with a temperature of about 20°C to avoid prolonging its recovery time.

2. Watering: It is relatively drought-resistant and afraid of waterlogging. When you just buy it, if it is in the early stage of flowering, you can water it more to keep the soil moist but not waterlogged, to prevent the root system from being damaged by waterlogging; if it is in the late stage of flowering, you can reduce the amount of watering and extend the flowering period appropriately.

3. Light: It likes light and is slightly shade-tolerant. When you just buy it, you can place it in a well-ventilated place with soft light for maintenance, giving it sufficient light for a long time, but not direct strong light to avoid burning the flowers and leaves.

4. Fertilization: When it is just bought, you need to stop fertilizing. After it adapts to the new environment and resumes normal growth, you can apply nitrogen fertilizer to it every 10 days.

3. Is it necessary to change the pot?

Generally speaking, it is not advisable to repot newly bought chrysanthemums. If you really want to change to a flower pot you like, you can use the pot-in-pot method and directly put the original flower pot in the new pot and carry out normal maintenance.
