How to care for newly bought lily bamboo

How to care for newly bought lily bamboo

1. Soil

Lily bamboo has a particularly strong adaptability to soil and can grow well in a variety of soil environments. If conditions permit, you can replace the soil with sandy loam rich in humus when repotting it, which is most conducive to its growth. You can mix river sand, garden soil and leaf mold to prepare a soil with good air permeability and drainage.

2. Environment

When you just buy it, it is best to place it at a indoor temperature of about 25℃ to acclimate it to the environment. If it is winter, it should be kept at least above 10℃ to prevent it from frostbite. When caring for it at home, do not place it in places where it will be exposed to direct sunlight, such as balconies, in the summer. Prolonged exposure to the sun will cause the leaf stripes to become dim or even disappear, so be sure to provide it with shade.

3. Watering

It has strong adaptability, and slight droughts and waterlogging will not cause much impact. You can water it as soon as it is dry, and water it thoroughly. It is best to spray it with water in time to increase the surrounding air humidity and leaf moisture, which is beneficial to the growth of its leaves and the clarity of its color.

4. Fertilization

Just fertilize it during the growing season, once every half a month, and don't use too much fertilizer. Timely watering after fertilizing will help it fully absorb nutrients. Every time you repot, adding some organic fertilizer as base fertilizer is also very beneficial to its growth.

5. Pruning

It has a strong ability to resist pruning, and you can often prune off the ugly and poorly growing branches and leaves and trim it into the tree shape you like. Pay special attention to fertilizing and watering after pruning to ensure the sprouting of new buds and the repair of branches and leaves.
