Lotus planting method, can lotus be planted and propagated with lotus root?

1. Planting method

1. Time selection: Lotus planting can be done by sowing, and the time can be selected around April to August each year. During this period, it is relatively warm, the seed germination rate is higher, and the later growth is also better.

2. Choose seeds: Lotus will bloom and bear fruit around June every year. After the fruit is ripe, you can take out the seeds from it. Choose seeds with good quality and full grains, as this will have a higher survival rate. After selecting the seeds, you need to germinate them. First, break the hard outer shell without damaging the inside, then soak them in water and place them in a warm place to germinate.

3. Container substrate: The container and substrate must be prepared and selected before planting. Its roots are relatively developed, so the container must be able to accommodate its growth. Ceramic pots, clay pots, etc. can be used. The substrate can be selected from pond mud or silt dug out from it. If conditions do not permit, it can be prepared with garden soil, loess, or yellow sand.

4. Sowing: Sow the seeds, wait for a while and add appropriate amount of water. After the seedlings grow well, you need to increase the amount of water.

2. Can lotus roots be used for planting and reproduction?

In addition to planting lotus seeds, lotus can also be propagated by planting lotus roots. This is also one of the methods and is not difficult to operate.
