Is avermectin effective against red spider mites?

Abamectin has a wide range of applications. It is mainly used to control mites and lepidopteran pests. It can be used on vegetables , fruit trees, flowers , tobacco and other crops. So is avermectin effective against red spider mites? Let’s take a look with the editor below.

1. Is avermectin effective against red spider mites?

Avermectin is effective against red spider mites. Avermectin has stomach poison and contact killing effects on mites and insects, and has strong penetrating power. After the drug solution is sprayed on the plant leaves, it quickly penetrates into the leaf flesh to form numerous micro drug capsules. After the adult mites, nymphs and larvae of insects feed and come into contact with the drug solution, they immediately show symptoms of paralysis, become inactive, and stop feeding, but it cannot kill eggs.

For the prevention and control of red spider mites, avermectin plus spirocyclon plus fenvalerate plus chlorpyrifos, or avermitrin plus etoxazole plus thiamethoxam are all quite effective. However, it can only be used twice per season and cannot be mixed with alkaline agents such as lime sulfur and Bordeaux mixture. They are all toxic to bees, silkworms and fish, so avoid contaminating beekeeping sites, nectar crops, mulberry gardens and water areas .

2. 5% avermectin 2000 times + fenpyroximate 1500 times + profenofos 1000 times + thiamethoxam 2000 times

3. 5% avermectin 2000 times + spirodiclofen 2000 times + high chloramine 1000 times + profenofos 1000 times + dinotefuran 2000 times

3. Avermectin compounding method

1. Avithoxazole

It is a miticide compounded by avermectin and etoxazole. It has a good killing effect on eggs, young mites, nymphs and adult mites, and kills mites more thoroughly. In the early stage of red spider mites, evenly spraying 3000 times diluted 25% Avermectin·Ethioprine suspension can effectively kill red spider mites, with a lasting effect of up to 30 days.

2. Avermectin-Spiroclomethalin

It is a compound preparation of avermectin and spirodiclofen. The mixture of the two has obvious synergistic effect. It is effective against mite eggs, adult mites and larvae, and has both long-lasting and rapid effects. It has excellent preventive effect on pest mites such as red spider mites, yellow spider mites, rust mites, tea yellow mites and cinnabar spider mites. In the early stage of the occurrence of pest mites, spray with 5500-6285 times of 22% avermectin·spirodiclofen suspension, and the effective period can reach 40-50 days.

The above is an introduction to whether Avermectin is effective against red spider mites. Avermectin is effective in preventing and controlling red spider mites. It can quickly paralyze the pests and make them refuse to eat after being attacked, causing them to die within one or two days.
