As a traditional Chinese medicine, Yunnan Lithospermum officinale has a cold nature, is non-toxic and tastes sweet. Yunnan Lithospermum officinale can enter the liver meridian and heart meridian.

Yunnan Lithospermum officinale can replenish qi and nourish the middle, detoxify and clear away heat, cool blood and stop bleeding. It has a good therapeutic effect on patients with vomiting, eczema, febrile rash, constipation, burns, etc.

There are some tips about Yunnan Lithospermum officinale. Take 3 grams of Lithospermum officinale, 1.5 grams of dried tangerine peel and 3 inches of green onion, boil them together with fresh well water, and drink the flowers to treat and relieve acne. Using equal proportions of Trichosanthes kirilowii and Lithospermum officinale together with freshly drawn well water to boil and drink can treat urinary and bowel obstruction. If you are bitten by an insect, you can fry some comfrey in a pan and apply it to the wound.

When choosing Yunnan lithospermum, it is best to pick some that are thick and sturdy, with thick skin, purple color, hard texture and small heartwood. Please keep it in a dry place when storing.

The effect will be better if Yunnan Lithospermum is used in combination with some other herbs, such as Forsythia suspensa, Honeysuckle and Rhubarb. Or you can take Angelica dahurica, Angelica sinensis, Dandelion and Coptis chinensis together frequently.
