How to plant dragon fruit and how to repot the seedlings

How to plant dragon fruit and how to repot the seedlings

1. Planting method

1. Seed collection: The seeds used for growing pitaya must be of high quality, and the seeds can be taken from sufficiently mature pitaya. Then put the pulp with seeds into water and rinse continuously until the seeds and pulp are separated.

2. Germination: After taking the seeds, first disinfect them with potassium permanganate and then put them in warm water for a day. After soaking, take them out and drain the water. Place them in a ventilated place and wait for the seeds to dry before planting.

3. Prepare the soil: The soil used for planting dragon fruit should be loose and have good water permeability, otherwise the seeds will easily rot in the soil. If the prepared soil has been used to grow other plants, it should be disinfected before use.

4. Planting: Finally, you need to put the seeds in the soil and use a watering can to add some water to it. You can also cover it with a layer of plastic film, but you should uncover it every day to let it breathe.

2. Repotting Method

If you want to repot, you need to prepare a new pot first. The pot should be larger than the plant, otherwise its growth will be hindered. Use a shovel to gently loosen the soil, as it will be impossible to remove the seedlings if the soil is too hard. Hold its stem and take it out carefully. Usually if it is a seedling, the root system will grow well, so there is almost no need to trim the roots, just put it in the pot directly.
