Lily Care Tips, How to Extend the Flowering Period of Lilies

1. Maintenance tips

1. Temperature: The suitable temperature for lily growth is around 15-25 degrees Celsius. Try to maintain it within this range during maintenance. Pay attention to cooling down in summer. If the temperature is above 30 degrees Celsius, the plant will grow poorly. Keep warm in winter and the temperature should not be lower than 10 degrees Celsius.

2. Sunlight: Sunlight is an indispensable factor in maintenance. It likes sunlight very much. Only by maintaining sufficient sunlight can it be conducive to growth. During the growing period, it should be placed in a south-facing place with good light. If grown in a damp and dark place for a long time, the lily will become dull, the leaves will turn yellow, and the flowers will be difficult to bloom.

3. Water supply: It is drought-resistant and does not require much water. The humidity of the soil in the pot must be ensured during the growing period. It grows faster in spring and autumn, so it can be watered every 3 days or so. In summer, evaporation is high, so watering can be increased. Don't water too much each time, just water it thoroughly.

4. Fertilization: Before planting, you need to prepare the base fertilizer. Then during the spring growing season, you can apply fertilizer every half a month. The concentration should be thin. Be careful not to apply it on the bulbs to prevent the bulbs from rotting.

2. How to prolong the flowering period

The flowering period of lilies is around June to August every year. After the flowers bloom, if you want to prolong the flowering period, you need to control the sunlight, avoid exposure to strong light, and the surrounding temperature cannot be too high, otherwise the flowers will wither too quickly. Place them in a place with scattered light and good ventilation.
