When to plant osmanthus seedlings and how to cultivate them

1. Planting time

It likes a warm, humid and sunny climate, and there is more rain in spring and the temperature rises. Therefore, from the perspective of its growth, it is suitable for planting in spring. However, the autumn climate can also meet its growth needs, so autumn is also very suitable and a good time to plant seedlings. The specific time is after March in spring and around October in autumn.

2. Cultivation Methods

1. Prepare the soil: When cultivating osmanthus seedlings, you need to prepare soil with high looseness and good drainage. You can mix it with garden soil, river sand and leaf mold, which can better meet the growth needs. The flowerpot should be slightly deeper, with a depth of between 8-10 cm.

2. Plant in a flowerpot: After preparing the soil, you can plant in the pot. When planting, spread the soil first, then put in the seedlings and fill the soil as soon as possible. After filling the soil, compact it carefully, and add water and moisturize it in time. New sprouts will grow in about a week.

3. Maintenance and management: During the later growth period, it should be moved to a place with light. It is best to have 5-6 hours of light per day. The branches and trunks can grow better if they are exposed to more sunlight. Water every 2-4 days, and spray more water in dry environments. In addition, fertilizer should be applied once every half a month, using low-concentration fertilizer to avoid root burn.
