Method of hydroponic onion cultivation

Method of hydroponic onion cultivation

1. Selection and processing

Before hydroponics, you should choose larger ones, and preferably those that are about to sprout, so that they can sprout soon after hydroponics. After choosing, peel off the dry layer of skin on the surface and cut off a little from the root with a clean knife so that it can better absorb water.

2. Prepare the container

It is recommended to choose a transparent container to facilitate observation of growth. Note that the opening of the container should not be too big or too small, and should be able to hold the onion. You can use a glass bottle or a cup. After preparation, add water into it. The amount of water should not be too much, just enough to touch the bottom. If it is too full, it will affect breathing and rooting.

3. Carry out hydroponics

After everything is prepared, you can place it on the mouth of the container. In the early stage, you should change the water frequently, once a day, and persist for a week. Soon, white roots will slowly emerge.

4. Post-management

After the roots have grown, you can reduce the frequency of changing the water, and change the water once every one day. This should last for about 10 days, at which time small green buds will sprout from the top. From now on, you need to reduce the frequency and change the water about once every three or four days. If you want it to grow faster, you can add an appropriate amount of rooting powder. In addition, pay attention to more ventilation.
