How to plant the seedlings of Osmanthus fragrans

How to plant the seedlings of Osmanthus fragrans

1. Time for potting

After the Osmanthus fragrans seedlings have been cultivated for a period of time, their root system has grown stably and they can now be potted. The best time is April to May in spring, when the climate is mild and suitable, and can be stably maintained at around 20-25 degrees Celsius, which is conducive to resuming growth after potting.

2. Prepare the soil

The flower pots should be made of materials with good air permeability and drainage. The shape of the flower pots can be decided based on the growth of the plants. The soil must also be selected carefully. It needs to ensure air permeability, drainage, and nutrition. It can be mixed with garden soil, leaf mold, sandy soil, and organic fertilizer. It cannot be used immediately after preparation. It needs to be exposed to the sun first to play a role in disinfection and sterilization to remove the germs inside.

3. Planting in pots

Put a layer of expanded clay or vermiculite at the bottom of the flowerpot to increase drainage, then fill it with soil, then plant the seedlings in the center of the flowerpot, then fill it with the remaining soil and press it gently.

4. Post-maintenance

After planting, water it appropriately, place it in a soft, diffused light location, and do a good job of post-care to ensure the normal growth of the seedlings. When the plant stretches its branches and leaves, it is necessary to pinch off the tips and buds and do a good job of pruning.
