Maintenance method of potted Ligustrum lucidum

Maintenance method of potted Ligustrum lucidum

1. Pot soil selection

The plant of potted Ligustrum lucidum is relatively large, so the choice of flowerpot is very important. It needs to be able to accommodate the growth of the plant and allow the root system to stretch out. Choose a round or square pot based on the shape. The material should be breathable and have drainage at the bottom. Soil is the basis of maintenance. You can choose soil with good permeability and mix it with garden soil and humus soil. This can not only maintain permeability but also have sufficient nutrients, which is conducive to later growth.

2. Lighting

It likes light and should be placed where it can be exposed to light, but you need to be careful in the summer as it cannot tolerate strong light and needs proper shielding.

3. Water supplement

A humid environment is more conducive to growth, so during maintenance, it is necessary to maintain sufficient moisture and water regularly. Water the potting soil immediately after it dries up, and water it thoroughly once you water it.

4. Apply fertilizer

Maintenance is inseparable from fertilizer. When planting, base fertilizer needs to be applied in the flowerpot, and top dressing should be applied in time during the subsequent growth to ensure the growth needs.

5. Temperature range

It is not very demanding on temperature, and suitable temperature is more conducive to growth, which can be maintained at around 20 degrees Celsius on a daily basis. They are relatively cold-resistant in winter, and some can withstand temperatures as low as minus 12 degrees Celsius, but they still need to be prevented from frostbite.
