How to judge whether flowers are dry or wet

How to judge whether flowers are dry or wet

1. See the dry

Seeing the soil is dry means that after watering once, you can water it again when the moisture in the pot has basically disappeared and the surface of the soil has turned white. There is no need to wait until the soil in the pot is completely dry before watering. To determine whether it is dry, you can tap the outside of the flowerpot with your finger. If it makes a crisp sound, it means that the inside is dry. If the sound is very dull, it means that there is still moisture inside. You can also put your fingers in to feel the condition of the soil. If it is dry inside, you can water it.

2. See wet

"Seeing wet" means that you need to water the flowers thoroughly each time you water them, not just halfway, to prevent the situation where the top is very wet and the bottom is dry. For a vigorously growing plant, the roots that absorb water are usually concentrated at the bottom of the pot. If you only water half of the pot, it is difficult for the water to concentrate on the roots, which is equivalent to no watering. Therefore, you should wait until the soil layer is dry before watering it thoroughly, and keep watering until water flows out from the bottom of the pot.

3. Notes

Generally, watering follows this principle, but it cannot be generalized. Not all flowers are suitable for this method. You need to choose the appropriate method according to the characteristics of the flowers. It also depends on the climate and soil quality. You can water more in summer and control the water appropriately in winter.
