How to breed flying dragons

How to breed flying dragons

1. Grafting

If the operation is carried out during the growing season, the rootstock can be selected from the same Euphorbia species, which is required to grow stronger, such as Euphorbia paniculata. The scion is the fleshy rhizome cut from the flying dragon, which needs to be full and substantial. The grafting method can be flat grafting or inlay grafting. The two should be combined together. The wound should not be exposed to water. It should be tied tightly with a belt on the outside and can be untied after the growth and healing.

2. Sowing

If you choose to sow in spring, the survival rate will be higher. The seeds are harvested when they are ripe and sown immediately. Prepare fertile and loose soil, sow the seeds on it, then cover it with a layer of soil, water it appropriately to keep it moist, and promote seed germination and growth.

3. Cutting

Cutting is the simplest and most commonly used method, which can be carried out from May to September, and the survival rate is relatively high. Cut off the fleshy stem from the rhizome on the flying dragon and wipe off the white juice that flows out with gloves. Prepare a permeable sand bed. You can use sand or vermiculite. Spray water slightly to keep it moist. Then insert the cut fleshy stems into it, control the surrounding temperature, and wait until it grows roots.
