Fertilization method of Euphorbia pilosa

Fertilization method of Euphorbia pilosa

1. Apply sufficient base fertilizer

The application of base fertilizer is relatively important. You can put decomposed organic fertilizer as base fertilizer, and then put a layer of soil on it, about 1-2 cm thick. Then plant the Euphorbia milii in it. This can separate the fertilizer and the roots, avoid root burn, and help to slowly release the fertilizer effect.

2. Growth period

1. Spring: This is the peak growth period, and the demand for nutrients is a little greater. It can be met by applying thin fertilizer 2-3 times throughout the season. If too much fertilizer is applied, it will cause root burns. Also pay attention to the choice of fertilizer. Do not use too much nitrogen fertilizer, otherwise it will cause the leaves to grow too long but not bloom.

2. Autumn: Fertilization can be done normally in the early part of autumn, but when the temperature drops in late autumn, fertilization can be reduced.

3. Dormancy

1. Summer: In order to nurture flower buds, you can apply more phosphorus and potassium fertilizers from the beginning of bud formation, 1-2 times will be enough. When the temperature reaches above 35 degrees Celsius, it will enter a dormant state, and you can reduce the amount of fertilizer at this time.

2. Winter: Apply sufficient base fertilizer before winter comes to ensure a good wintering. It is sufficient to give fertilizer once throughout the winter, and if there are signs of flowering, give more.
