How to trim the silkworm

How to trim the silkworm

1. Withered and yellow branches

After growing for a period of time, as metabolism takes effect, the leaves may turn yellow and withered. If you see these, you must cut them off to prevent them from affecting the appearance. There are many reasons for the yellowing of leaves, such as lack of sunlight or strong sun burns. In these cases, the leaves need to be cut off and cannot remain on the plant.

2. Cut off the long branches

If there is insufficient sunlight in the maintenance environment, or if there is too much water, the plant may grow too tall, which will affect the overall shape of the plant and cause the leaves to become scattered and lack a sense of shape. You can cut off the overgrown branches, choose a position below the bottom layer of leaves, and prepare sharp scissors for removal. After cutting, avoid the incision when watering, wait for the wound to dry slightly, and pay attention to maintenance. After a period of time, small leaves will grow on the bare stems. If the problem of excessive growth is not serious, the pruning position can be slightly higher. The cut off overgrown branches can also be hydroponically cultivated to induce root growth and then planted into new plants.

3. Root pruning

This is for repotting. The flowerpot needs to be changed every 1-2 years. After taking the plant out, the roots need to be pruned to remove old and rotten roots without damaging the healthy roots.
