How to cut Magic Fountain Clematis

1. Pruning time

The pruning time and emphasis are different for different varieties. For the Magic Fountain variety, pruning is mainly concentrated after the flowers wither, which is around September, and in early spring. In addition to these two times, if you encounter dead or yellow branches on the plant, you don't have to prune during these two times. It mainly depends on the normal growth process.

2. Pruning method

1. After flowering: It usually only blooms for one season, but it needs to be pruned after flowering. The remaining flowers should be removed directly, including the flower branches. Select them from the 2nd to 3rd nodes below the flower. Cutting them off can promote branch renewal because there is enough nutrients accumulated. It should be noted that 40-50 days after pruning, it may bloom again and the plant shape can be adjusted.
