Do I need to water the fortune tree when changing its soil?

Do I need to water the fortune tree when changing its soil?

1. Do you need to water?

The money tree needs to be watered once after changing the soil. This is because the new soil needs to be exposed to the sun for disinfection, resulting in the absence of any moisture inside. After watering, you can let it moisten a little, which can also make the soil and roots fit more closely. At the same time, if no watering is done for a long time during the seedling growth period, the substrate still needs a little moisture to prevent the plant from drying out.

2. Soil replacement process

1. Time to change the soil: The time to change the soil of the money tree is generally in spring. The temperature at this time is more suitable, allowing it to quickly resume growth after repotting without wasting too much nutrients.

2. Preparation of new soil: The main reason for changing the soil of the money tree is the deterioration of soil quality. On the one hand, it is hardened due to long-term watering, and on the other hand, it is due to insufficient fertility. The potting soil should be prepared by using garden soil, river sand and sawdust, with the ratio being about 3:1:1. Add bean cake or animal manure to the potting soil to improve soil fertility.

3. Prune the roots: After removing the money tree from the pot, do not rush to plant it. Instead, check whether the roots are rotten and cut off the old and rotten roots. This can avoid the growth of bacteria and reduce the waste of nutrients.

4. Change the soil and water: After cutting off the rotten roots, you can plant. Apply a little carbendazim on the bottom before planting for effective disinfection. Place the plant in the pot, do not damage the roots when filling the soil, compact it and water it thoroughly.
