How to propagate tofu trees

How to propagate tofu trees

1. Cutting time

The time for tofu tree cuttings is generally chosen in spring, when the climate is mild, which is suitable for rooting after cuttings. Generally, it will sprout in one month and grow relatively fast. And there is no severe cold or hot weather, so the survival rate is improved.

2. Cut branches

The selection of branches is an important factor in cuttings. Branches should be cut from plants in good growth condition. They must be strong and free of diseases and pests, otherwise it will affect the possibility of survival. After the branches are chopped off, they cannot be directly planted for cuttings. Instead, they can be soaked in a rooting agent first to reduce the mortality rate.

3. Prepare the matrix

If you are not planting on a large scale, you can prepare some soil. It should be loose in texture, deep in soil layer, fertile and rich in nutrients. This way, when you plant the cuttings, the plants can absorb more nutrients for growth. The substrate cannot be used directly, it is best to expose it to the sun for disinfection first.

4. Take cuttings

Process the branches, remove the lower leaves, and then insert them diagonally into the prepared soil. Water it thoroughly to help it adhere to the soil.

5. Maintenance and management

After the plant growth is stable, it can be transplanted and planted. Pay attention to temperature control. 25-30 degrees Celsius is most suitable, and it should not be lower than 8 degrees Celsius in winter.
