How to plant Jade Dew through leaf cuttings

How to plant Jade Dew through leaf cuttings

1. Choose the blade

Before taking leaf cuttings, you need to dig the jade plant out of the potting soil, being careful not to damage its roots. Using a sterilized knife, cut the plant just above the rhizome where the leaves meet, taking as much rhizome tissue as possible. The leaves used for leaf cuttings must be complete and in good growth condition.

2. Drying leaves

After cutting the leaves, place them in a cooler, ventilated place and wait for the cut parts to dry before you can do leaf cuttings. If conditions permit, apply an appropriate amount of carbendazim to it. Observe the leaves in time during the drying period, which will take about two or three days.

3. Prepare the matrix

The substrate for leaf cuttings should be prepared in advance. The soil used should have good air permeability and should be kept sufficiently clean. Some flower lovers will use old soil, which may contain bacteria and insect eggs, and is not conducive to the rooting of leaves, so it needs to be disinfected before use.

4. Leaf cuttings

After preparing the substrate, you need to place the leaves on it. You can use a little soil to bury its growing point, or slowly insert it into the soil. Then you need to water it, and it should be kept moist, and the leaves must not be soaked in water. Finally, place the grafted jade plant in a ventilated place and wait for it to take root.
