How to plant Houttuynia cordata and when to plant it

How to plant Houttuynia cordata and when to plant it

1. Planting time

Planting Houttuynia cordata can be done at any time of the year, but the best time to plant it is around the beginning of spring, which is around February or March. Many people will plant at this time, and they can be harvested in batches about 180 days after planting.

2. Planting Method

1. Site selection: In order to allow it to grow better, it is best to choose sandy loam for planting. The selected planting site should be flat enough and drainage should be as convenient as possible. After selecting the site, add an appropriate amount of basal fertilizer to help it grow more robustly.

2. Seed selection: Before planting, you need to select the underground stems first. Try to choose those that are stronger and disease-free, and then cut them into small segments of about 4-6 cm, ensuring that each small segment has 2-3 nodes.

3. Planting: After selection, plant the underground stems into the soil. There should be a certain distance between each plant, and then cover it with soil about 5-6cm. If the soil is too dry after planting, you need to water it to establish roots and keep the soil moist.
