Can I take cuttings of the fortune tree in spring?

1. Can cuttings be used?

The climate and temperature in spring are not only stable, but also very suitable for the growth of money trees, so not only can cuttings be taken in spring, but it is also very suitable to do so at this time. If cuttings are taken at the right time, the branches will easily grow roots, which will also be helpful for its later growth. When taking cuttings, the temperature should be kept at around 20℃. If the area is relatively warm, it can be done in advance. If the area is relatively cold, it can be postponed for a while.

2. Cutting method

1. Prepare the soil: Before propagation, you need to prepare river sand as the cutting medium and disinfect it before use. Then put it in a pot and water it until it is moist.

2. Branches: Cut relatively healthy and thick branches from the mother plant, and keep the length between about 10-15cm. When cutting, the cut should be smooth, and it is best to cut it in one go. Then cut off all the leaves except the top leaves, and it is best to use sterilized scissors.

3. Cuttings: Apply some rooting powder to the cut bottom of the branch, then cut it into the watered river sand and place it in a shaded place with good air circulation.

3. Notes

When watering, just water thoroughly, but do not allow excess water to remain in the soil, as this will affect rooting and cause branch rot, making it difficult to successfully graft.
