Cultivation methods and precautions of the lotus lantern

Cultivation methods and precautions of the lotus lantern

1. Temperature

It likes high temperature environment and is not cold-resistant. Therefore, the temperature should be kept above 16 degrees during maintenance, even in winter. Place it indoors after the temperature drops. Too low a temperature will affect normal growth and may also cause the flower buds to fall.

2. Lighting

During the cultivation period, the plants should be placed in a sunny place, but be careful to avoid strong light, especially the midday sun in summer, to avoid burning. The light in winter is mild and can accept full sunlight. However, it is also shade-tolerant, but it cannot be deprived of light for a long time, otherwise it will affect its growth.

3. Soil

When caring for the plant, the soil should be fertile, humus-containing and loose. You can use peat soil, leaf mold and a proper amount of river sand to mix it. This will provide sufficient nutrients and good air permeability to better meet the growth needs and make it grow better.

4. Watering

It likes a high humidity environment and needs to be watered frequently during maintenance, but avoid waterlogging. Watering must be controlled during the flowering period, otherwise the flower buds will easily fall off. In addition, pay attention to watering more and increasing the humidity.

5. Notes

During the maintenance period, you should pay attention to repotting every one or two years. When changing, you should use a larger pot than the original one so that there will be more space for growth. You also need to change to new soil with more nutrients. In addition, when repotting, you should combine pruning to trim off dead branches, broken branches, and rotten roots.
