Can Christmas cactus be seen with light at night? What fertilizer should be used?

1. Can you see the light?

When growing Christmas cactus, the environment must be kept dark at night, so no light is allowed. It needs appropriate light during the day, but if it is exposed to light at night, the time it sees light will be greatly extended, and the flower buds of the plant will not be able to differentiate normally, and it is very likely that it will not bloom.

You should master reasonable maintenance methods. It needs to receive about 6-8 hours of light during the day, but it needs to be shielded from light at night. You can find a cardboard box to cover it. Generally speaking, this is needed to ensure about 12 hours of darkness at night.

2. What fertilizer to use

There are many kinds of fertilizers that can be applied to Christmas cactus, including some compound fertilizers, eggshell fertilizers or personally made flower fertilizers. When it is in its growth period, you can apply some nitrogen fertilizer to make it grow more vigorously. Before flowering and during the flowering period, you can change to applying phosphorus and potassium fertilizers, which is not only beneficial to the quality of flowering, but also makes the flower color more beautiful.

3. Notes

No matter what kind of fertilizer is applied, it should be applied in small amounts. If the amount of fertilizer is large, it may burn the roots of the plant. In addition, do not apply raw fertilizers, as they can cause great harm to the plants.
