1. Division timeThe time for dividing the money tree is generally in spring, which is also the season for repotting. Combining the division with repotting can save time and effort. The temperature in autumn is more suitable, and the plants can be divided in autumn, but the time should not be too late, otherwise the temperature will drop, which will be unfavorable for the survival of the young plants. The temperature is too high in summer, and if the divided plants are accidentally damaged, it will be difficult to recover. 2. Separation from the basinBefore you divide the money tree, you need to stop watering and make sure the soil becomes dry so that it will be easier to remove from the pot. Loosen the soil along the inner wall of the flowerpot, take it out of the pot, shake off the old soil on the roots, check whether the roots are aging and knotted, then separate the tubers from the weak places and apply sulfur powder on the wounds. 3. Pot soil preparationIn order to allow the young money tree to grow well, the potting soil must be prepared well. Usually peat soil is used with coarse sand and garden soil. Coarse sand can also be replaced by coal slag, but it must be rinsed in advance. The pH of the soil should be maintained between 6-6.5, and an acidic environment is more conducive to its development. If the soil is alkaline, it can easily lead to yellowing of the leaves. 4. Potting and MaintenanceAfter the wounds of the separated tubers are dry, they can be potted. Place it upright in a new pot and fill it with the prepared potting soil. Don't bury it too deep. The top should be 1.5-2 cm from the soil surface. After potting, spray water appropriately, but don't water too much, so as not to affect the young plants' acclimatization. |
