1. SoilIt is best to use humus soil. There were dead branches, fallen leaves, etc. in the garden before, which rotted in the soil and became good fertilizer, creating this nutrient-rich soil. You can follow the principle of fine soil on top and coarse soil underneath, but be sure to avoid using heavy clay soil, which is prone to water accumulation due to poor drainage and provides poor nutrients. Especially soil with lime components will burn the roots and must not be used. 2. ContainerPlant the azalea in a clay pot with drainage holes at the bottom. The pot does not need to be too large, just enough to allow the roots of the plant to grow freely. It will not easily accumulate water when watering, and the water will drain quickly. 3. MoistureRhododendrons are afraid of drought, so they need to be watered in time and kept moist. The roots need to supply water to the flower buds to make the flowers bloom more vigorously. However, because its roots are very thin and its absorption capacity is not that strong, you cannot give it too much water, otherwise the roots will easily rot. At that time, not only will it not be able to bloom frequently, but whether the plant can survive will also be a problem. It is best to use well water, but if using tap water, you can leave it in a container for a few hours. 4. TemperatureThe temperature suitable for azalea to bloom is not particularly difficult to achieve. Just place it indoors and keep the room temperature around 12 to 24 degrees. From late spring to summer, the temperature rises and evaporation increases, so more water should be given accordingly; in autumn and winter, the temperature drops, so less water should be given to avoid frostbite. 5. Flowering periodThe flowering period of azalea is in April, May and June of spring and summer. Once the flower buds appear, the sunlight can be increased appropriately. As long as you follow the above points and observe whether there are diseases and pests, it will not be a problem for azalea to grow well and bloom frequently. |
