How to grow potted bicolor jasmine in winter

How to grow potted bicolor jasmine in winter

1. Suitable temperature

Bicolor jasmine has a certain degree of cold resistance. If you want it to survive the winter safely, just keep the temperature above zero degrees. It is best to keep it indoors. If it is still left outdoors, it needs to be wrapped with plastic film and make sure to ventilate it properly every two days. If you want the bicolor jasmine to bloom in winter, the temperature requirement is relatively high, and it needs to be above 15 degrees.

2. Adequate lighting

Whether indoors or outdoors, there must be sufficient light. Considering that the light in winter is not too strong, it is most appropriate to place it in the brightest place.

3. Appropriate amount of fertilizer

Bicolor jasmine requires very little fertilizer in winter, almost no fertilizer. However, you can apply fertilizer once in spring to promote growth in the new year.

4. Appropriate amount of water

Bicolor jasmine is afraid of waterlogging, and the demand for water in winter is not much, so moderate watering is enough, but not too much. Generally speaking, you can water it once every ten days or so. Keeping the soil slightly dry will help it survive the winter.

5. Proper pruning

It can be pruned once before winter. This pruning not only helps the plant survive the winter, but also helps it grow well in the spring of next year. Mainly cut off the weak branches and those infested with diseases and insects. If the branches are still dense after all these pruning, they need to be thinned out.
