How to grow crystal palm

How to grow crystal palm

Moisture requirements

Do not water the new plants too much to avoid rot. Wait until the new plants grow new roots before watering them normally. It is best to water in the evening in summer. Do not water unless the soil is dry. Do not water on rainy days. Watering too much will cause the plant to rot quickly. If the roots are rotten, you can keep the leaves intact, place them in a ventilated and cool place to dry, and then place them in moist soil. Soon aerial roots will grow and you can replant them.

Soil requirements

Suitable for soil that is a mixture of sand and soil. You can add some bone meal to increase the phosphorus content of the soil. Because the crystal palm plant is short and has a shallow root system, you can use a shallow pot to plant it.

Temperature requirements

Spring and autumn are the seasons when the crystal palm grows fastest. Pay attention to temperature regulation to avoid temperatures that are too high or too low, as this will cause the crystal palm to enter a dormant state. Provide appropriate shade. When the temperature is too high in summer, you should spray water into the pot to cool it down. Note that high temperature and humidity will cause the roots of the crystal palm to rot.

Lighting requirements

Crystal palm cannot be exposed to strong light, so the light cannot be too strong, which will cause the plant to change color. It should be placed in a semi-shaded place.

The crystal palm that grows in semi-shade is crystal green like jade and very beautiful.

Fertilization requirements

Crystal palm does not require fertilizer. It only needs to be fertilized 1-2 times with light liquid fertilizer mainly composed of phosphorus and potassium fertilizers every spring. When applying top dressing, do not sprinkle the fertilizer on the leaves of the crystal palm, otherwise yellow spots will appear. Normally, you only need to apply a lighter liquid fertilizer.

Editor's message: When watering and fertilizing, it is best not to contaminate the leaves, otherwise it will easily cause the leaves to rot.
