1. Soil

Hibiscus has good adaptability and is not very demanding on soil. It can survive even in infertile or alkaline soil. But deep, fertile and loose soil is best for its growth.

2. Sunlight

Hibiscus likes light and can tolerate partial shade. It must be ensured that there is enough sunlight during the growth period, but the sunlight cannot be too strong. In the sunny summer, it is necessary to block the sunlight in time when it is strong. It can also be moved into the house to prevent direct exposure to strong sunlight, which will cause the flowers and leaves to lose moisture and wither.

3. Fertilization

When it sprouts, nutrients should be added in time, mainly quick-acting fertilizers, to promote nutritional growth. Apply 1 to 2 times of nutrients containing phosphorus and potassium before budding to promote the formation of flower buds. During the flowering period from May to October, nutrients should be added twice in combination with weeding and other activities, mainly with substances containing phosphorus and potassium, supplemented with nitrogen-containing substances, to ensure the number of flowers and the growth of the tree.

4. Watering

Hibiscus is suitable for places with plenty of water and moderate temperature, so it is necessary to maintain the moisture of the soil. If there is little water or no rain for a long time, it should be watered more frequently. However, it does not like too much water. The water in the pot should be drained in time after rain. Preventing excessive water during the rainy season is the main task for its healthy growth.

5. Notes

Hibiscus is not prone to diseases during its growth period, but they do occur from time to time. The main harmful insects include the bag moth, the noctuid armyworm, the longhorn beetle, etc. The way to prevent harmful insects is to ventilate the room properly and maintain a moderate temperature. When harmful insects are discovered, measures must be taken immediately to deal with them centrally, using non-toxic, effective medicines or fungicides to prevent and kill them.
