How to grow cherry tomatoes in pots

1. Prepare the substrate

Before planting potted cherry tomatoes, prepare pots and soil of appropriate size. It is best to use soil with good drainage and sift out the larger particles. After preparation, it needs to be disinfected and finally some organic fertilizer is added.

2. Seed Soaking and Germination

After purchasing the seeds, they need to undergo simple processing before they can be planted. First, pick out the shriveled and unhealthy seeds, soak the plump seeds in potassium permanganate, and take them out after ten minutes. Rinse with clean water and soak in warm water for a day. Finally, wrap the seeds with a wet cloth and place them at 25℃. Wash them with water every day. The seeds will turn white in about one or two days.

3. Planting

The simplest and most critical step is to sow the seeds into the soil and cover the seeds with a 0.5 cm layer of soil. Then place it at 25℃ and wait for about 3-4 days for it to germinate. Usually, the seedlings can be transplanted when they have 4 or 5 leaves.

4. Transplanting

When transplanting, remove some of the old soil from the seedlings, plant them in a large flowerpot, and then water them thoroughly. About half a month after transplanting, it will grow faster.
