When to plant roses

When to plant roses

1. Planting time

The planting time depends on the specific method used. The planting time will be different for different methods. If you divide the plants and plant them in spring or autumn, the temperature will be suitable, which is more conducive to the seedlings adapting to the pots and growing. If planting is done by cuttings, it can be done in spring or winter. In addition, different cuttings are selected at different times. In addition, there is the sowing method, which is planting in autumn.

2. Planting by division

When planting by division, new plants should be cut from the side of the vigorously growing rose mother plant. Care should be taken to minimize damage to the mother plant, and each cluster should have two or three stems, so that the vitality is stronger and it is easier to survive. When planting, plant it in sandy soil with deep soil layer and good drainage. Don't plant too deep, just bury all the roots in the soil. With careful care and management, it will form clumps and bloom in about three to four years.

3. Cutting planting

If it is hardwood cuttings, it is usually carried out in February or March in spring. Choose two-year-old plump and strong branches as cuttings, cut them into 15 cm lengths, and insert them into the soil. In addition, pruning can be combined in winter, and the cut branches can be used as cuttings.

4. Sowing and Planting

The sowing method is less used. In autumn, the harvested seeds are placed in a cloth bag filled with moist sand, and then placed in a low temperature environment. After about a month, they are placed in an environment of 20 degrees. The seeds will soon crack and can be planted at this time.
