Rose grafting method

The purpose of rose grafting is to use the well-developed root systems of other plants to make the roses grow more vigorously, bloom more, have a more beautiful plant shape, and increase the amount of flowering. If it is a climbing rose with a faster flowering speed, the growth rate of grafting will be similar to the original one.

Rose grafting time

Rose grafting can be done all year round, but in order to increase the survival rate, it is best to choose to graft in spring and autumn, because the temperature in these two seasons is stable, the climate is pleasant, and the light conditions are sufficient to meet the growth needs of roses.

Rose grafting technology

There are three grafting methods: root grafting, branch grafting and bud grafting.

1. Root grafting

Choose a rose with strong roots, process its roots, use sterilized tools to cut the roots, insert the rose roots into the rootstock, wrap it with plastic wrap, wrap it tightly, put it in a plastic bag and wait for it to develop.

2. Branch grafting

Branch grafting is another method of rose grafting. Choose branches with good growth on the rose plant for pruning, use a sturdy rootstock, insert the branches and leaves into the rootstock, use plastic film to seal it, and wait for it to develop.

3. Bud grafting

For rose grafting, you can choose to graft young buds. Pick the strongest young buds among the roses, choose a well-growing rootstock, disinfect the rootstock, insert the young buds directly into the well-treated hole in the rootstock, and tie them firmly with plastic bags.
