How to grow tiger skin plant in winter

How to grow tiger skin plant in winter

1. Repotting

The best time to repot it is in winter. Because winter can increase its survival rate. When repotting and transplanting, you can appropriately cut off the old soil and old roots at its roots. Then disinfect it. Use a properly diluted special disinfectant solution. Do not water for a week after repotting. Keep the soil breathable and air circulating.

2. Temperature

Take appropriate measures to prevent cold and frost, and pay attention to keeping warm. It likes a warm environment. The suitable temperature should be kept between 20℃-30℃. The temperature is lower in winter, so it can be grown indoors. In addition, you can take measures to protect against the cold. For example, add a thin layer of plastic film on it. If the temperature is too low, appropriate measures should be taken to protect it.

3. Watering

Water in moderation. It is dormant in winter. Therefore, you can water it once before winter to ensure sufficient penetration. Then you can water less or not at all. When the soil in the pot looks dry, you can wipe its leaves appropriately to keep it moist. Remember not to overwater, otherwise waterlogging will cause root rot.

4. Fertilization

During winter, it is dormant. Therefore, you can apply less fertilizer or no fertilizer. Before winter, you can apply an appropriate amount of professional compound fertilizer or diluted fertilizer water. There is no need to fertilize during the winter dormancy period. You can loosen the soil appropriately to keep it breathable, which will be beneficial to its growth.
