How to grow the king flower

How to grow the king flower

1. Soil

When breeding, the soil should contain humus, have good drainage and be slightly acidic. You can mix it with garden soil, leaf mold and an appropriate amount of river sand. This can basically meet the needs, and the plants will grow better in the later stage.

2. Lighting

It likes light very much. Only with sufficient light can the plant grow more vigorously and the flowers will be more colorful. Therefore, it should be placed in a sunny place during maintenance, and there is no need to block the light in summer. If the plant is not exposed to light for a long time, it will be very weak and will not bloom normally during the flowering period.

3. Temperature

It likes high temperature environment, and the most suitable temperature is around 27 degrees. Pay attention to temperature control in winter, place it indoors in time when the temperature drops, and be careful not to drop below 7 degrees, otherwise it will be frostbitten and affect its growth next year.

4. Fertilization

The demand for fertilizer for the king protea is not high. As long as fertilizer is applied once in the spring and autumn growing seasons, the growth needs can be met. Note that fertilizer should be used in low concentrations, as high concentrations will burn the roots.

5. Watering

It prefers a slightly dry environment to grow, so don't water it too frequently. Wait until the soil is dry before watering. When watering, be sure to water it thoroughly until water seeps out from the bottom of the pot so that the soil and roots at the bottom can absorb the moisture.

6. Pests and diseases

If improper methods are used during maintenance, the plants may be easily infected by diseases and pests, which can cause great harm to the plants. Common ones are whiteflies, scale insects and leaf spot diseases. When discovered, spray pesticides in time to prevent and control them.
