How to grow osmanthus trees

How to grow osmanthus trees

1. Breeding environment

1. Light: It is a long-day plant. During maintenance, it needs more sunlight exposure. Only in this way can the plant grow better. Otherwise, the branches will become small and fragile, and the number of flowers will decrease.

2. Soil: It likes to grow in fertile soil with good drainage, and it should be acidic. When breeding, you can mix garden soil, sandy soil and humus soil yourself, so that there is sufficient nutrients and it will grow better in the later stage.

3. Watering: Do not add water too frequently during maintenance, and water cannot accumulate in the soil, otherwise the roots will easily rot. Watering should be determined according to actual conditions. If it is a hot season, water more often, once a day. If it is the rainy season, the amount of water should be reduced and the water should be drained in time. In addition, pay attention to water control during the flowering period.

4. Temperature: Osmanthus is very cold-resistant and can withstand temperatures as low as minus 13 degrees Celsius, so there is basically no need to worry in winter. The temperature suitable for its growth is between 15 and 18 degrees, and it needs to be cooled during the high temperatures in summer.

2. Common pests and diseases

If the environment is not suitable or the method is inappropriate during maintenance, it will easily lead to the invasion of diseases and pests. Common diseases include brown spot, dead spot, anthracnose, etc., which almost all appear on the leaves and will also affect flowering. Once discovered, spray the medicine in time. In addition, if it is maintained at home, it is easy to be harmed by red spider mites, which must be eliminated in time with mite cleaner.
