How to care for wintersweet bonsai

1. Reasonable watering

Wintersweet is very afraid of waterlogging. If you water it too much and there is waterlogging in the potting soil, the growth and flowering of the plant will be affected. During the maintenance period, the soil should be kept slightly dry, and watering should be done only after the soil becomes dry. In the hot summer weather, you need to water more often, but also avoid water accumulation.

2. Sufficient light

It likes sunlight, and bonsai cultivation should be placed in a sunny place, with at least 5-6 hours of sunlight every day. In winter, it should be placed in a location with sufficient light but not exposed to direct cold wind. In summer, it should be moved to a semi-shaded place in time to prevent sunburn.

3. Change the pot regularly

After 1-2 years of maintenance, you need to change the pot once, and when changing the pot, you need to clean up 2/3 of the old soil. Also, use scissors to cut off rotten roots, dry roots, and roots that grow too long, otherwise they will consume nutrients in the soil and growth will be hindered.

4. Prevention and control of diseases and pests

Wintersweets are rarely affected by diseases, but are often attacked by insects that attack the leaves of the plant. Preventive work should be done in daily life, the maintenance location should be well ventilated, and pesticides should be used immediately after insect pests are discovered. Manual capture is recommended when the number is small.
