How to grow potted figs

How to grow potted figs

1. Maintenance conditions

1. Soil: It is best to give it loose, breathable, well-drained and fertile flower soil. If conditions permit, chicken manure can be added, which will also greatly promote the fruiting of the plants.

2. Watering: Generally, the amount of water given to it depends on its growth stage. When they just sprout, you can water them appropriately. During the peak growth period, you can water it more often, once in the morning and once in the afternoon. After the fruits have grown, water them less frequently, otherwise they will crack. On rainy days, you can reduce or not water the plant, just keep the soil moist.

3. Temperature: It cannot tolerate severe cold and prefers a relatively high temperature environment. It is basically dormant in winter and needs to be moved to a warm room. The temperature in the room should not be lower than 5 degrees, and the soil in the pot should not be too wet. It can safely survive the winter.

4. Pruning: Usually one is for shaping and making it look good, and the other is to help it grow better. You can cut off its branches when they grow to 20 cm to ensure a certain length and prevent them from consuming excess nutrients.

2. Prevention and control of diseases and insect pests

Small insects can harm it, so we need to kill insects in time. You can first artificially deworm, and use anthelmintics when necessary, otherwise it will affect its growth. The fruits are also likely to be eaten by insects or birds, so pay more attention to insects and birds when caring for them.
